About the Conference

On June 3, 2025, Palette Skills will bring together the Upskill Canada community for the Learning Sandbox LIVE 2025 conference. Our purpose is to share best practices, address challenges and create strategies to prepare the ecosystem for Canada's workforce evolution.

This conference is an invitation-only event focused on the transformative impact technology, policy, and rapid economic change are having on Canada's workforce. Conference attendees will work collaboratively to design strategies for the future of workforce development.

About the Learning Sandbox

The Learning Sandbox is a collaborative platform dedicated to enhancing the capacity of Palette Skills’ Delivery Partners. Its mission is to support Delivery Partners and strengthen Canada’s broader workforce development ecosystem.

Keynote Speaker

Goldy Hyder

Goldy Hyder is President and Chief Executive Officer of the Business Council of Canada (BCC), a non-profit, non-partisan organization whose membership is comprised of more than 170 chief executives and entrepreneurs of Canada’s leading and largest companies.

He is a member of the Board of Directors of Open Text Corporation and has a long track record of service on behalf of several charities and non-profit organizations, including the Coalition for a Better Future and the Business + Higher Education Roundtable.

A regular commentator in Canadian media on business, politics and leadership, he hosts the “Speaking of Business” podcast, which features interviews with Canadian innovators, entrepreneurs and business leaders. He holds a Master of Arts in Public Policy from the University of Calgary.

Paid Parking: Paid parking is available across from the conference venue at MaRS Discovery District. Accessible parking will also be available, please contact us to let us know if you require it.

What is the dress code?

The dress code is business casual.

Will meals be provided?

A continental breakfast and buffet lunch will be provided. Refreshments will be available throughout the day. Dietary requests should be submitted via the registration form.

How do I book my accommodation?

For your convenience, a block of hotel rooms has been reserved at the Chelsea Hotel (33 Gerrard St W, Toronto, ON M5G 1Z4) as it is within walking distance from the conference venue. The rate is $289 per night. Rooms are limited so we recommend you reserve as soon as possible.

When calling, identify yourself as part of the Upskill Canada Learning Sandbox Conference room block or use Group ID: PAL060225 to access the discounted rate.

Booking Deadline (Cutoff Date):
To take advantage of the discounted group rate, all bookings must be made by Monday, May 5, 2025.

Suggested Arrival & Departure:

  1. Arrival Date: June 2, 2025 (Check-in): We recommend attendees arrive at the hotel on the afternoon of June 2 to allow for attendance at the Pre-Event Reception at 6 pm. This is a key networking opportunity and we highly encourage your attendance!
  2. Departure Date: June 4, 2025 (Check-out time from the Chelsea Hotel is 11 AM)
